God’s Appointed Time

And the Lord said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh saying, 'Shall I surely bear a child, since I am old?' Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son."Genesis 18:13-14When I first read, this, all I saw was "is anything too hard for the Lord?" And I thought oh Lord, nothing is too hard for you! And I just wanted to grab a hold of that and hang onto it. Which I am. But then, when I read it again, I saw that it said at the appointed time . Then I said Lord, I trust you with the appointed time. God you choose the timing of when the hard thing will come to pass. There's much you need to do in my heart, and in the hearts of my loved ones to see the hard thing become reality. So today I stand in Your presence and I set my mind on You. I fix my eyes on You! I lift up my heart to You, despite the hard things.Patrice Puddington
